Dr Winnie CHAN Hiu-ting

Biography

Dr Chan Hiu-ting Winnie is a Research Assistant Professor at the Ip Ying To Lee Yu Yee School of Humanities and Languages, Saint Francis University. Her research explores intercultural drama and theatre, bilingual and creative translation, Chinese opera and performance culture, audiovisual translation and accessibility, game studies and visual novel development, as well as gender, disability, and cultural studies. She received the CUHK Golden Jubilee Civilian Scholarship on Hong Kong Literature in 2020/21 and served as a visiting scholar at the Institute of European and American Studies, Academia Sinica in 2023. Her publications include The Queen of the Art of Dan: A Case Study on Yu Lai-zhen (2015) and The Forgotten Hong Kong Bilingual Writer Hsiung Shih-I (2023). She is also the Chinese translator of The Fox Spirit, the Stone Maiden, and Other Transgender Histories from Late Imperial China (2024).
