The "Attained" level in "Citizenship and Social Development" (CSD) is deemed as satisfying HKDSE Level 2 subject requirement for entry to Associate Degree and Higher Diploma programme.
Having obtained a Level 2 or above in the Liberal Studies subject in previous HKDSE examinations can fulfil the requirement of "Attained" for the Citizenship and Social Development subject.
Mathematics extended module (M1/M2) could be considered as an independent elective course.
"Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)", and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in Applied Learning (ApL) subjects (Category B) are considered to be equivalent to Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 in DSE subjects respectively. A maximum of 2 Applied Learning (ApL) subjects (excluding Applied Learning Chinese) will be taken into consideration.
"Combined sittings" is accepted for meeting the general admission requirement and for the calculation of admissions scores. If an applicant has taken the HKDSE examination in a subject more than once, the best result for that subject will be counted. There is no score deduction for repeated subjects.
Category C: Other Languages Subjects (applicable to the 2025 HKDSE and onwards).
Unless otherwise stated in the programme specific regulations, Other Languages subjects (Category C) at specified levels are considered as elective subjects. A maximum of one Other Languages subject will be taken into consideration. Please refer to the table below for score conversation scale.
Graduated fromQF Level 3 programme of a relevant discipline with a total learning size of normally 150 QF credits and learning contents covering Chinese and English that is approved by the University.*
* Not eligible for Higher Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (General) programme.
Relevant and substantial work experience and/or prior qualification(s) obtained in or outside Hong Kong (e.g. assessed through recognition of prior learning and credit accumulation and transfer), with demonstrated ability to undertake sub-degree education.
* Not eligible for Associate Degree in Business and Higher Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (General) programme.
Attained Grade 6 in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Practical Examination; OR
Equivalent level awarded by similar organizations; OR
Approval after audition.
*A satisfactory result in HKDSE Music Elective Subject will be highly considered.
Alternative qualifications in Chinese Language requirement for local Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) applicants
For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students fulfilling the specified circumstances below, our University accepts alternative qualifications in Chinese Language as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for Undergraduate and Sub-degree admission.
The specified circumstances are: 1.The student has learned Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary education. 2.The student has learned Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler Chinese Language curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in our local schools.
Notes: 1. Local students admitted under the programme would be eligible for a subsidy provided by the government under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) subject to the approval of Education Bureau. 2. Shortlisted applicants will receive individual notifications regarding interview details from either the Registry or the Academic departments. The notifications will be sent through various electronic means (e.g. email, SMS, and phone (typically using phone numbers starting with 3702 or 3653). Applicants are advised to attend the interviews as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be feasible. Failure to attend the scheduled interview may result in their applications not being considered further. 3.
