General Admission Requirements

Notes:

  1. Elective subjects (Category A) and Applied Learning (ApL) subjects (Category B) subjects are preferred.
  2. Having obtained a Level 2 or above in the Liberal Studies subject in previous HKDSE examinations can fulfil the requirement of "Attained" for the Citizenship and Social Development subject.
  3. Mathematics extended module (M1/M2) could be considered as an independent elective course.
  4. "Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)", and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in Applied Learning (ApL) subjects (Category B) are considered to be equivalent to Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 in HKDSE subjects respectively. A maximum of 2 Applied Learning (ApL) subjects will be taken into consideration.
  5. "Combined sittings" is accepted for meeting the general admission requirement and for the calculation of admissions scores. If an applicant has taken the HKDSE examination in a subject more than once, the best result for that subject will be counted. There is no score deduction for repeated subjects.
  6. Category C: Other Languages Subjects (applicable to the 2025 HKDSE and onwards).
  7. Unless otherwise stated in the programme specific regulations, Other Languages subjects (Category C) at specified levels are considered as elective subjects. A maximum of one Other Languages subject will be taken into consideration. Please refer to the table below for score conversation scale.

Programme Specific Requirements

In addition to the General Entrance Requirements, applicants must satisfy the following entrance requirements specific to their chosen programme(s).

Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) in Applied Hotel and Tourism Management (Part-time)
Mature Applicants

  • Aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought; AND
  • With three years of relevant working experience in Disciplinary Departments or ICT-related industry

*Remarks:

  1. Applicants need to pass the admission interview.
  2. The applicants must submit by the following documents: (i) personal statement; (ii) employer's recommendation; and (iii) previous/current employment certificate/letter to prove the applicant's work experience containing job roles/positions, duties and responsibilities, skills and experience gained, and other related information.
  3. Satisfy the English language requirements below:
    • Level 2 in English Language of HKDSE; OR
    • Grade E or above in Use of English of HKALE; OR
    • An overall score of 5 in IELTS^; OR
    • A score of 45 or above (Internet-based test/ Internet-based test Home Edition) in TOEFL^; OR
    • Have successfully completed an AD/ HD programme which is recognized by local institution or an overseas institution where the medium of instruction was English; OR
    • A score of 100 or above (out of 150 full scores) in English of National College Entrance Examination (NCEE)
^ The validity period of language proficiency test results is two years from the date of the examination.


Alternative qualifications in Chinese Language requirement for local Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) applicants

For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students fulfilling the specified circumstances below, our University accepts alternative qualifications in Chinese Language as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for Undergraduate and Sub-degree admission.

The specified circumstances are:
1. The student has learned Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary education.
2. The student has learned Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler Chinese Language curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in our local schools.


Remarks:
1.      Shortlisted applicants will receive individual notifications regarding interview details from either the Registry or the Academic departments. The notifications will be sent through various electronic means (e.g. email, SMS, and phone (typically using phone numbers starting with 3702 or 3653). Applicants are advised to attend the interviews as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be feasible. Failure to attend the scheduled interview may result in their applications not being considered further.
