Upon completion of the BATT programme, students should be able to:

  1. acquire major translation strategies and knowledge of key issues in translation technology;
  2. demonstrate sound skills and techniques of translation and interpreting in work-based settings;
  3. apply the acquired knowledge and concepts of translation technology to work and study;
  4. use appropriate technological, linguistic, and theoretical theories in the production and evaluation of translated texts for work purposes;
  5. use specific tools and translation systems to increase productivity and enhance cost-effectiveness in the industry;
  6. develop an ability in critical thinking; and
  7. acquire the generic qualities and skills of a humanities student as well as a technology professional
