1. Exercise an appropriate proficiency in English and Chinese for practical translation on the job as junior executives or management trainees;
  2. Apply theoretical and practical skills for translation between Chinese and English in relevant working environments;
  3. Exercise an essential proficiency in English and Chinese, as well as knowledge of German or Japanese as third language, in general communication;
  4. Apply translation technology techniques and skills for effective and efficient translation in practical domains;
  5. Demonstrate a general knowledge and command of generic skills in practical communication;
  6. Demonstrate a basic ability to offer assistance to or perform translation tasks at the paraprofessional level; and
  7. Serve ethical and professional standards in translation industry or other relevant areas.
