Support SFU through the New Round of Research Matching Grant Scheme (RMGS)

The HKSAR Government launched a new round of the Research Matching Grant Scheme (RMGS), committing a total of HK$1.5 billion over a four-year period from 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2029. 

The RMGS is designed to enhance research capacity and development across the higher education sector.  Under the Scheme:

• The Government will provide a 1:1 matching grant for the first HK$20 million in research funding received by the university.
• Beyond this threshold, a 1:2 matching ratio will apply (i.e., HK$1 government grant for every HK$2 donations secured), up to the ceiling of HK$200 million.

Donations received by Saint Francis University (SFU) for research-related purposes are eligible for matching grants, with no restrictions on academic disciplines.  RMGS covers the eight UGC-funded universities and thirteen local self-financing degree-awarding institutions. Each institution may receive a maximum matching grant of HK$200 million, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
