Saint Francis University's Senior Administrative and Academic Appointments

Saint Francis University (SFU) is pleased to announce two appointments aimed at strengthening its institutional governance and academic prowess. Mr Felix Leung King-wai assumed the role of Vice-President (Academic and Quality Assurance) on 15 July, while Professor Lui Tai-lok will join the School of Social Sciences on 3 August.
Welcoming the new appointees, SFU President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung said, "Both Mr Leung and Professor Lui are highly accomplished in their respective fields of higher education governance and the social sciences. Their appointments will be invaluable in driving SFU's long-term growth and momentum as a University of Applied Sciences."
Mr Felix Leung Assumes Vice-Presidency, Leading Academic Quality and Programme Development
In his new capacity, Mr Leung oversees SFU's academic governance, quality assurance, and programme development. A key part of his mandate involves steering the University's accreditation, ensuring a robust academic foundation that seamlessly aligns with SFU's strategic trajectory as a University of Applied Sciences.
Mr Leung, a seasoned higher education administrator, brings with him a wealth of experience in the post-secondary sector. He previously served as Principal Registrar at the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). His extensive leadership portfolio also includes senior roles such as Vice-President (Administration and Development) at Tung Wah College, Administrative Vice-President and Associate Academic Vice-President (Strategic Planning) at Hong Kong Shue Yan University, and Director of the Hong Kong Art School.
Professor Lui Tai-lok Joins SFU, Expanding Teaching and Research Capabilities in Social Sciences
Professor Lui is a highly distinguished sociologist renowned for his research into class analysis, economic sociology, urban development, and Hong Kong society. His arrival ahead of the 2026–27 academic year is set to elevate the University's teaching and research capabilities across the social sciences, public policy, and related disciplines.
Professor Lui possesses extensive experience in both academia and university management at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), The University of Hong Kong (HKU), and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). During his tenure at EdUHK, he served as Vice President (Research and Development), Director of the Academy of Hong Kong Studies, and Director of the Centre for Greater China Studies.
Professor Lui holds a BA and MPhil in Sociology from HKU, alongside an MPhil and doctorate from the University of Oxford. In recognition of his active engagement in public affairs, he was appointed a Non-official JP by the HKSAR Government in 2018.
