SFU Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival with Mooncakes and Ice Cream
03 Oct 2025
With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, Saint Francis University (SFU) specially arranged the distribution of mooncakes and soft-serve ice-cream today (Friday, 3 October) to spread the festive joy on campus.
As a new member of the SFU community, President Professor Stephen Cheung Yanleung, said he felt thrilled to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival within the first month of his tenure. He said, "The Mid-Autumn Festival reminds us of the importance of coming together. It's especially meaningful to share the joy with our students and colleagues, enjoying festive food and treat at the beginning of the new academic term."
During the new academic year of 2025-26, SFU has welcomed nearly 2,500 new students at different levels, bringing the total number of students enrolled to over 6,500, which represents an increase of 14.2% compared to that of last year. To cater for the steady growth of the student population, the planning of SFU's new Shatin campus is well underway. Upon the completion of the two-phase construction project in 2030, the new campus will provide additional teaching and learning space for about 3,000 students.
Earlier, Professor Cheung has answered questions from undergraduate students regarding university life, career planning, religious faith and the application of artificial intelligences.
