President’s Perspective: Newspaper op-ed on Alternative pathway for students

President's newspaper op-ed was published in HKET on 11th February 2026. The article analysed the impact of the continuing drop in the number of local newborn babies on the development of tertiary education. Professor Cheung said student achievements should not be measured purely in terms of DSE results, while stressing the importance of providing multiple pathways for students. The article quoted our DPICT programme as an example, calling for tertiary education institutions to consider providing and recognising similar diploma programmes for the benefit of students.
