SFU Receives Sustained Donation from the Louis K. Y. Leung Education Foundation to Establish Scholarships and Bursary
15 May 2026
Saint Francis University (SFU) signed a donation agreement with the Louis K. Y. Leung Education Foundation (the "Foundation"). Under the agreement, the Foundation will make an annual donation of HK$400,000 to establish three scholarships and one bursary for SFU students studying in disciplines such as healthcare, education, technology, humanities, business and design, in support of students with outstanding academic performance or financial need.
Mr Louis K. Y. Leung, Founder of the Foundation, has long been dedicated to promoting education and youth development. Through the Foundation, Mr Leung and his wife, Mrs Cynthia Leung Kao Pui Yee, in collaboration with the Salesians of Don Bosco, recognize secondary and tertiary students from places including Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau. This reflects the Foundation's strong commitment to advancing education, fostering moral development, while providing resources and opportunities to support the youth development.
Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-leung, President of SFU, expressed gratitude for the Foundation's generous donation, noting that this contribution highlights the shared mission of both parties in advancing educational development, nurturing students' character, and promoting holistic education. The University also extends heartfelt thanks to all sectors of society for their steadfast support, and pledges to continue enhancing teaching resources to provide students with a high-quality learning experience.
