On behalf of Saint Francis University (SFU), President Professor Stephen Y.L. Cheung was delighted to sign a HK$20 million donation agreement with Mr. Lam Wo Cheuk Justin (林和卓). The Signing Ceremony was held on SFU campus and witnessed by SFU's senior management team, including Provost Professor Annie Bligh, Vice-President (Academic and Quality Assurance) Dr. Dennis Law, Vice-President (Research and Development) Professor Lo Tit Wing, Vice-President (Finance and Institutional Advancement) Mr. Manhoe Chan, Vice-President (Administration) and Secretary Dr. Leung Sze Ming, Associate Vice-President (Institutional Advancement) Dr. Ricky Leung, Dean of the Yam Pak Charitable Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences Professor Anthony Chan, Dean of the Yip Ying To Lee Yu Yee School of Humanities and Languages Professor Chan Sin Wai, Dean of the Felizberta Lo Padilla Tong School of Social Sciences Professor Wong Yu Cheung, Dean of Graduate Studies Professor Simon Chan, Dean of Students Dr. Anna Ng, and other department heads and staff members of SFU.
At the ceremony, President Professor Cheung expressed his most sincere gratitude to Mr. Lam for his steadfast support rendered to the University.
He said, "We at SFU are deeply grateful to Mr Lam for his generous donation and unwavering support. Thanks to the strong backing of the community and benefactors along the way, SFU has been able to fulfill its core mission of nurturing young talents in different fields including healthcare, social work, design, hospitality and businesses, offering much-needed upward mobility opportunities for the youth."
In appreciation of Mr. Lam's generous support, SFU will name the Department of Design in honour of his wife, Mrs. Irene Lam, as the Irene Lam Department of Design.
