Programme Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the BSW Programme, students should be able to:
- Integrate and apply a broad range of social work-related knowledge to the understanding of clients' issues at the social, family, and individual levels;
- Use expertise and proficient problem-solving skills to promote social well-being of clients;
- Apply and integrate social work knowledge and skills for effective social work generalist intervention with different target and action systems;
- Observe professional values and ethics which are crucial for competent and effective practice;
- Make use of a teamwork approach and leadership skills to meet the needs of clients in an effective manner;
- Demonstrate broad perceptual and conceptual horizons and knowledge of life and a global perspective;
- Exhibit the abilities for intellectual curiosity and capacity for life-long learning;
- Use of research findings and policy analysis to advocate for the betterment of society;
- Communicate effectively in Chinese and English in specific fields; produce professional documents to a good standard; and
- Be culturally sensitive to the service of people with special needs in social work practice.
