Upon successful completion of the Programme, students should be able to:

  1. develop attitudes and values, and acquire knowledge and skills that are vital to the social work profession;
  2. apply and integrate theories and skills effectively into social work practice;
  3. be sensitive to the needs of people, and be committed to serving the community;
  4. be aware of and keen on reflecting their views on social issues;
  5. think critically and independently in a logical and rational manner;
  6. be imbued with a sense of moral and intellectual responsibility;
  7. communicate in both Chinese and English proficiently;
  8. acquire the basic concepts of Information Technology (IT) and use IT as a tool to support the delivery of services; and
  9. develop a foundation to further their career development and pursue lifelong learning.
