Core Areas of Expertise

Dr SIU is a social work practitioner-educator-researcher. His expertise spans health social work, participatory and qualitative research, psychosocial resilience, and holistic body-mind-spirit approaches to wellbeing. He is also keen on interprofessional collaboration, in which he brings together research, professional education, and community engagement in ways that directly strengthen Hong Kong's social service sector. His current research (in 2026) lies on intersection of technological acceptance and the wellbeing of the caregiver and elderly, as well as the holistic wellbeing of individuals living long-term connections.
