St. Francis University cultivates students' moral well-being and its spiritual culture on campus.

Ss. Francis Chapel was completed in April 2017 and designed by Albano Poli, an Italian liturgical artist.
The design of the Chapel on the SFU campus carries both educational and religious significance, and the theme of "

Chapel Guide

The cross in the Chapel is Poli's unique design in Hong Kong, signifying the Risen Christ.
The backdrop painting behind the Risen Christ shows the Heavenly Jerusalem; on the right of the backdrop are the 3 patron saints: St. Francis of Assisi, St. Francis Xavier and St. Francis de Sales; on the left of the backdrop are the 3 missionaries to China: Ven. Matteo Ricci, Rev. Johann Adam Schall von Bell and St. Joseph Freinademetz.
Natural light comes from sky window above the cross.

On the side walls are "Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy", representing Caritas' spirit of "Love in the Service of Hope".

Spiritual Works of Mercy (about needs of the soul): Counseling the doubtful, Instructing the ignorant, Admonishing the sinner, Comforting the sorrowful, Forgiving injuries, Bearing wrongs patiently & Praying for the living and the dead.

Corporal Works of Mercy (about needs of the body): Feeding the hungry, Giving Drink to the thirsty, Sheltering the homeless, Visiting the sick, Visiting the prisoners, Burying the dead & Giving alms to the poor.

The painting on the ceiling reflects the "Breath of the Holy Spirit, emitting love and wisdom".

Outside the Chapel

The images of the patron saints of St. Francis are also found outside the Chapel.

The natural light comes through the stained glass of campus' main entrance, intertwined with campus setting, symbolizing the care of St. Francis of Assisi for the nature and the people in need.

Two sailing boats on the stained glass outside the Chapel, showing the footprint of St. Francis Xavier who spread the gospel to Far East.

Words of wisdom radiate out from the mosaic tile painting outside the lecture theatres, illustrating the spread of knowledge and faith by St. Francis de Sales.

The 14 Stations of the Cross are displayed on the pillars in the campus lobby.
