In support of the Institute’s vision for nurturing and empowering students with Special Educational Needs to realise their potential, the Unit for Learning Achievement (ULA), was established under Student Affairs Office in December 2019.

Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple Cultural Tour 06 March 2026 Located in Wan Chai, the Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple is the oldest Sikh temple in Hong Kong and a significant landmark reflecting the city's cultural diversity. Movie Screening and Sharing – "Zero to Hero" 27 February 2026 The inspirational film Zero to Hero, portraying the true story of Hong Kong Paralympic gold medalist So Wa Wai and his mother, was screened to highlight the power of family and perseverance. Following the screening, Mr. So Wa Wai and Mr. Poon Kin Lui joined in person to share their experiences, offering valuable insights that encouraged participants to reflect on the meaning of effort and success. |

"SEN-Friendly Community® at SFU" Workshop 25 February 2026 The Unit for Learning Achievement organized the "SEN Friendly Community® at SFU" workshop, designed and facilitated by Senmily HK. Through interactive activities, participants gained a deeper understanding of the characteristics of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). The workshop also introduced practical skills for engaging with individuals with Special Educational Needs and explored effective methods for fostering friendly and inclusive communication. |

Workshop on Sighted Guide Techniques and Sharing by People with Visual Impairment 23 February 2026 The Unit for Learning Achievement organized a workshop in collaboration with the Hong Kong Society for the Blind, focusing on sighted guide techniques and the lived experiences of people with visual impairment. Instructors introduced proper methods for safely guiding visually impaired individuals while walking, and participants gained deeper understanding through personal sharing by visually impaired speakers.
