Biography

Dr Thomas Kiu is an Assistant Professor at St. Francis University. His research focuses on the intersection of technology, organizations, and employees, with a particular emphasis on the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and HR analytics in shaping the future of work. Drawing on theories such as Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework, and leadership, Dr Kiu investigates how organizations adapt to and leverage technological advancements to drive innovation and sustainable development.  

Dr Kiu's work explores the benefits and risks of AI and analytics across the technology value chain, including their implications for organizational strategy, employee well-being, and ethical considerations. His current research delves into the adoption of AI, big data, and HR analytics within the European Union, examining their potential to promote sustainability while addressing associated challenges.  

With expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, Dr Kiu's research contributes to a deeper understanding of how organizations navigate significant technological transformations. Prior to his role at St. Francis University, Dr Kiu taught at Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Greenwich University London, and earned his PhD from Durham University.
