Dr Derry Law, Assistant Professor at The Rita Tong Liu School of Business and Hospitality Management and Programme Leader of the BEMDB Programme at Saint Francis University, was recently invited to present his research on applying fashion styling to Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) brace treatment during International Scoliosis Awareness Day.
Sharing the stage with distinguished scholars from HKU, CUHK, and PolyU, Dr Law discussed how thoughtful design and fashion elements can improve not only the functionality but also the self-confidence of young scoliosis patients undergoing brace treatment.
The event attracted members of the public, including patients and their families, who were eager to learn more about innovative scoliosis treatments that address both physical and emotional well-being.
A great example of how interdisciplinary research at SFU is making a meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
