Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (2026-27 Intake)
Overview
The Government introduced the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS) in the 2025-26 academic year to encourage local students to pursue advanced studies in priority areas that support Hong Kong's development and to broaden the pool of high-calibre talent.
The Education Bureau (EDB) has allocated 32 scholarship places to Saint Francis University (SFU) for the 2026-27 intake.
Amount of Scholarship
The FTSS offers a maximum scholarship amount of HK$100,000 per eligible student for the entire programme.
List of Designated Programmes
For SFU, two existing Master's Degree programmes as listed below:
- Master of Corporate Governance
- Master in Nursing and Allied Health
and two new Master's Degree programmes planned for launching in 2026-27 have been published on the EDB's list of designated programmes for the 2026/27 cohort under FTSS on the Concourse website:

Eligibility Criteria
- Applications are open to local students (*) enrolled in the eligible taught postgraduate programmes at SFU for 2026-27.
- Selection is merit-based and will consider academic achievements, professional qualifications (e.g. ACCA, CPA for the Master of Corporate Governance), relevant work experience and accomplishments. Supporting documentation is required.
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview conducted by an Independent Committee from the University.
Notes:
- All scholarship awardees must sign a written undertaking within one month of the results announcement, confirming their commitment to work in Hong Kong or the Greater Bay Area in relevant sectors after graduation.
- Applicants who have received other government scholarships, including the Continuing Education Fund (but excluding student financial assistance), for the same programme will not be considered to avoid "double benefit".
- Each student can only be awarded with the scholarship once, either at a University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded or self-financing university. Those who have been awarded a scholarship under the Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme offered by the UGC-funded universities in the past for another programme shall also be ineligible for the scholarship.
Application and Required Documents
- Applicants must submit a personal statement (1,000 words) outlining career goals after completing the programme and demonstrating commitment to join and contribute to the relevant industries/ sectors in Hong Kong or the Greater Bay Area after graduation.
- Two recommendation letters (academic/ professional)
- Supporting documents for academic qualifications, professional qualifications and work experience.
