Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies
Objectives
The Government introduced the Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies (FTSS) starting from the 2025-26 academic year to attract more local students to pursue advanced studies in priority areas conducive to the development of Hong Kong and expand the pool of high-calibre talents for various domains, while enhancing talent retention by ensuring that the award recipients are committed to joining relevant industries and sectors in Hong Kong/ or the Greater Bay Area post-graduation. EDB has selected Master of Corporate Governance (MCG) and allocated a total of 12 scholarship places to nurture future talents in supporting Hong Kong as an international trading and financial centre.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:Be enrolled in MCG at SFU for the 2025-26 academic year.
- Be a Local Student of Hong Kong (as defined by the Education Bureau: at https://www.jupas.edu.hk/en/page/detail/3670.)
- Meet minimum academic requirements:
- Achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent from a prior degree, OR
- Hold other equivalent qualifications, such as professional membership of a recognized institution (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CGI, CIMA, Hong Kong Bar Association, The Law Society of Hong Kong).
- Submit a signed declaration committing to work in Hong Kong/ or the Greater Bay Area in relevant sectors post-graduation.
Application Process
- All applications must be submitted through an SFU-managed online platform.
- Required Documents:
- Academic transcripts and degree certificates.
- Proof of professional qualifications.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing work experience and achievements, along with supplementary documents.
- Personal statement (1,000 words) addressing:
- Career goals and alignment with Hong Kong's strategic sectors.
- Specific plans to contribute to Hong Kong in the priority area of "Hong Kong as an international trading and financial centre".
- Two recommendation letters (academic/professional).
- A signed commitment to work in Hong Kong.
