Duties

The appointee will be responsible to assist with the administrative duties and conduction of the research project. Tasks include: (a) literature review; (b) making arrangement to ensure a smooth research study; (c) collecting data and conducting data analysis; (d) preparing publications and reports; and (e) performing other assigned duties.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants should have (i) a bachelor's degree or above in health sciences or healthcare-related disciplines; (ii) 3-4 years of research experience and knowledge of mixed-methods research and survey design; (iii) knowledge in public health, community health and primary healthcare; (iv) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and (v) good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.  Those with 3 years' relevant experience or more may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant.

Duties

The appointee is mainly required to assist in an innovative research project entitled 'Alternative Storylines: Developing an AI-Enabled Narrative Therapy App to transform identity of Young Adults with Special Educational Needs'. The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator, the Co-investigators and the team in conducting the research tasks, including: (a) reviewing literature; (b) conducting needs assessment; (c) coordinating the software developers in creating the application; (d) collecting and analyzing quantitative data; (e) data arranging and conducting in-depth interviews; (f) compiling research reports and journal articles; (g) handling relevant administrative tasks, and (h) performing other duties as assigned.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants for Senior Research Assistant should (i) have a recognised Master's degree or above in Education / Applied Research / Applied Psychology / Statistics / Social Work/ Computer or Data Science; (ii) with at least 3 years of relevant research experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, a track record of publications will be considered an advantage; (iii) familiar with procedures of research adopting randomized controlled trial and/or mixed-methods; (iv) be able to work independently, have an investigative nature and an analytical aptitude, attention to detail, ability to synthesize research into clear, compelling outputs; and (v) have good communication skills and fluency in English and Chinese.

Duties

The appointee is mainly required to assist in an innovative research project entitled 'Alternative Storylines: Developing an AI-Enabled Narrative Therapy App to transform identity of Young Adults with Special Educational Needs'

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator, the Co-investigators and the team in conducting the research tasks, including: (a) collaborate with the team and data scientist to design user-cantered interfaces aligned with therapeutic goals; (b) create wireframes, prototypes, and design systems that prioritize accessibility, inclusivity, and ease of use for diverse SEN populations; (c) practical front‑end development experience for a cross‑platform (iOS & Android) audio chatbot application, supporting switchable voice and text interaction; (d) ensure seamless integration of AI-driven narrative features into the app's user experience; (d) conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback from young adult users, caregivers, and practitioners; (e) contribute to project documentation and support proposal development by articulating design strategies and impact; and (f) performing other duties as assigned.

Appointment Criteria

Applicants for Research Assistant should (i) an honours degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related disciplines; (ii) experience in system development, integration and solution implementation; (iii) be able to work independently, have an investigative nature and an analytical aptitude, attention to detail, ability to synthesize research into clear, compelling outputs; and (iv) have good communication skills and fluency in English and Chinese.

Applicants with 3 years or more of relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant. The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator and the research team to support the research project. Applicants should possess at least a bachelor's degree in social science or relevant disciplines, with proficiency in SPSS/R/Python and other computer software, have knowledge and research skills in both quantitative and qualitative research, and/or have relevant research experience.

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigators under Caregiving Research and Development Centre.
