Upon completion of the BATT programme, students should be able to:

• Acquire major translation strategies and knowledge of key issues in translation technology;
• Demonstrate sound skills and techniques of translation and interpreting in work-based settings;
• Apply the acquired knowledge and skills of translation technology to work and study;
• Use appropriate technological, linguistic, and theoretical theories and skills in the production and evaluation of translated texts for work purposes;
• Use specific tools and translation systems to increase productivity and enhance cost-effectiveness in the industry;
• Develop an ability in critical thinking; and
• Acquire the generic qualities and skills of a humanities student as well as a technology professional
