背景簡介

徐明心教授為香港聖方濟各大學湯羅鳳賢社會科學院前院長，國際社會工作學刊（International Social Work Journal）的聯席總編輯，亦為前香港理工大學社會工作教授、社會工作博士課程主任和醫療及社會科學院副院長。徐教授投身社會工作的實務、研究及教學四十多年。早年曾任職香港基督教服務處，創立香港首間社區家庭服務中心，首間精神藥物濫用者輔導中心，首個僱員輔助計劃，同時擔任香港眼庫診所主管及協調服務拓展、籌款、服務評估及員工培訓。

徐教授於加拿大麥基爾大學取得社工碩士，並於多倫多大學取得三個獎學金，完成哲學博士。他是美國社會工作學院會士，美國社會工作行政人員協會首位國際會員，英國管理學會會員，香港人力資源學會院士, 香港專業輔導學會院士及香港社會工作學院院士。

徐教授的研究領域包括社工督導、社會服務行政、社會工作教育及社會工作理論與實務。他發表了超過210項著作，包括專著12本 (e.g., Sage出版的【社會工作督導】一書)及學術期刊論文83篇。徐教授是全球最多産的社工督導學者。在社會工作及實務方面，其論文【從抗逆到抵抗：優勢視角社會工作實務的重構】獲國際社會工作期刊頒發法蘭·端納(Frank Turner) 2010年最佳論文獎，位列最多讀者下載的社會工作文章首位，成爲全球最多讀者的社會工作文章。此外，徐教授在英國社會工作學刊的文章【社會工作關係界綫再探】重構社工與服務對象的關係，將醫療模式重構成更包容、更多元的關係模式。徐教授最近的研究集中在為服務對象及照顧者重燃希望，重塑社會工作的本質和內容。此外，徐教授還擔任世界各地6間大學的客席教授及 9本學術期刊的編委。
