English Language Requirements

In addition to the General Admission Requirements, applicants must satisfy the following English Language Requirements specific to their chosen programme(s) if their bachelor's degrees or equivalent qualifications did not adopt English as the medium of instruction. 

English Requirements
College English Test (CET6) 
  • A score of 430 in CET6.
National College Entrance Examinations (NCEE)
  • A score of 100 in NCEE.
HKDSE
  • Level 3 in English Language.
IELTS#
  • An overall score of 6.
TOEFL#
  • A score of 70 in internet-based test; OR
  • A score of 525 in paper-based test.
Equivalent qualifications
  • Other equivalent qualifications will also be considered on case-by-case basis.

  • Grade E or above in 3 AL subjects in the GCE/IAL; OR
  • Grade E or above in 2 AL subjects in the GCE/IAL, plus Grade C in English Language and and Grade C / Level 4 in Chinese Language in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE.
* Grade E in 2 AS-Level subjects are considered as Grade E in 1 AL Subject. The same subject will not be counted at both the A-level and AS-level.

* English Language and Chinese Language subjects shall normally not be counted as the subjects for meeting requirement.

Programme Specific Requirements

In addition to the General Entrance and English Language Requirements, applicants must satisfy the following entrance requirements specific to their chosen programme(s).

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy
IB Diploma (For LOCAL applicant ONLY)

  • A minimum score of 24 in International Baccalaureate (IB), with at least Grade 4 in 2 Higher Level (HL) subjects; AND
  •   
  • Satisfy the English Language requirement:
    • A score of 80 in TOEFL internet-based test, or 550 in paper-based test; OR
    • An overall Score of 6 or above in IELTS; OR
    • Grade C / 4 or above in GCE-OL / GCSE / IGCSE English Language; OR
    • Grade 4 or above in English at IB; OR
    • Grade E or above in HKASLE Use of English.

  • Satisfy the Chinese Language requirement:
    • Grade 4 or above in Chinese at IB; OR
    • Grade E or above in GCE (AL / AS) Chinese Language; OR
    • Grade C / 4 or above in GCE-OL / GCSE / IGCSE Chinese Language.

Higher Diploma in Music Studies
  • Attained Grade 6 in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Practical Examination; OR
  • Equivalent level awarded by similar organizations; OR
  • Approval after audition.

Remarks:
1.     Shortlisted applicants will receive individual notifications regarding interview details from either the Registry or the Academic departments. The notifications will be sent through various electronic means (e.g. email, SMS, and phone (typically using phone numbers starting with 3702 or 3653). Applicants are advised to attend the interviews as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be feasible. Failure to attend the scheduled interview may result in their applications not being considered further.
