How to settle the Application fee?

Can I modify programme choice(s) and priority after submitting application form via Admission Portal?
          Applicants are not allowed to change the programme choice(s) and priority after the submission of application.
Can I change the programme in case I have been allocated to the non-first priority preference in JUPAS?

If you are not willing to be enrolled in the allocated programme by JUPAS, you may consider applying to other non-JUPAS programmes offered by SFU/CBCC through our Admission Portal.

Can I submit application for SSSDP Undergraduate programmes by JUPAS & direct admission for non-JUPAS Undergraduate place at the same time?

JUPAS applicants can secure a SSSDP subsidized Undergraduate year 1 entry place only via JUPAS but not any other channels. 

How can I submit application for SSSDP Undergraduate programmes?

Local applicants with current and/or past HKDSE result(s) who seek admission to SSSDP Year 1 entry place should apply via JUPAS (JUPAS course code: JSSA01, JSSA02, JSSA03, JSSA04, JSSA05, JSSA06).

Local applicants with locally accredited or overseas qualifications other than HKDSE Examination result should apply for the programmes via Admission Portal.

Local applicants who seek admission to SSSDP senior year entry place should apply for the programmes via Admission Portal.

Interview Arrangement

When will the interview be held?

It depends on the School/Department's practices. 

Shortlisted applicants will receive individual notifications regarding interview details from either the Registry or the Academic departments. The notifications will be sent through various electronic means (e.g. email, SMS, and phone (typically using phone numbers starting with 3702 or 3653).

Applicants are advised to attend the interviews as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be feasible. 

Is there any walk-in application after the release of HKDSE Result?
Applicants can do walk-in applications.

Nonetheless, the interview arrangement will depend on School/Department's practices. The interview invitation details will be sent to applicants through various electronic means (e.g. email, SMS, and phone (typically using phone numbers starting with 3702 or 3653).

Will I get the result right after the interview?

It depends on the School/Department's practices.

Will SFU/CBCC arrange online interviews?

Interview mode may vary from Schools/Departments. We will update you on the interview details via email in due course. You should check email or login to Admission Portal to check any update(s) regarding your application regularly. 

Receiving Conditional Offer

When will I receive a Conditional Offer?

It depends on the School/Department's practices. The Conditional Offer letter will be conveyed to the shortlisted applicant by email. 

If I received a Conditional Offer from a non-first priority choice, will it affect the School / Department's decision regarding my first preferred programme?

No. It will NOT affect the School/Department's decision regard of your first programme choice.

Each applicant may have multiple conditional offers up to ALL programme choices, even if conditional offer letters are made at different times.

Is there any remedy if I lost my Conditional Offer (CO) letter?

You can still claim the Offer via our Admission Portal even if the letter was lost.

Claiming Offer

How to claim the Offer online?

Five easy steps for claiming the Offer: 



1. After Log-in, click the "Claim Conditional Offer" button.

2. If you are eligible to claim offer, the "Applied Programme Status" will be shown as "Conditional Offer".

3. Select the programme that you wish to claim the Conditional Offer.


4. Upload the supporting documents as stated on the Conditional Offer letter, and  click the "Submit" button.

5. Confirmation pop-up appears if you have submitted the necessary documents successfully. After verification is done, you will receive the firm offer package via email or download the package from our Admission Portal.

What documents are required for claiming the Offer?

Please submit the required documents stated on the Conditional Offer letter and your identity verification document(s).

Do I need to visit SFU/CBCC in person to claim the Offer?

You can claim the Offer via our Admission Portal.

When is the deadline for claiming the Offer?

The quota of each programme is limited, and they are being offered on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Therefore, we recommend applicants claiming their offers as soon as possible. 

Can I claim the Offer if I missed the deadline?

Please contact the Registry at apply@sfu.edu.hk in case you have missed the claim offer period.

Is there any document that requires me to submit to the SFU/CBCC in person after claiming the Offer online?

You only need to claim the Offer and submit the required documents via our Admission Portal. Registry shall issue the firm offer package to you via email later after verification.

The supporting documents uploaded to the Admission Portal are required to be submitted and verified in Registration Day. The arrangement will be announced on University/College website in due course.

Can I make the enrolment deposit / first instalment of tuition fee even if I missed the deadline?

The quota is limited for all programmes, so it is "first-come, first-served" basis. You are supposed to settle the enrolment deposit and/or first instalment of tuition fee by the stipulated deadline to reserve the offer. Please contact the Registry immediately at apply@sfu.edu.hk in case you have missed the payment due date.

Admission Portal

What file format are supported and the maximum file size for attachments?

We accept the following formats: pdf / jpg / png / doc / docx.

The maximum size of a single file is 10MB. The maximum size of the total files is 50MB.

What can I do if I cannot confirm attending the interview / downloading offer package / uploading documents via Admission Portal?

Please try to log-out and then log-in again.

If you are still unable to do so, please contact the Registry at apply@sfu.edu.hk for assistance.

What can I do if I cannot claim the Offer online? 

Please contact Registry at 3702 4388 during office hours from Monday to Friday (8:30am – 7pm; Except Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday) or email us at apply@sfu.edu.hk  for further assistance. 

Why do I get an error message stating "You cannot submit duplicate applications" while I submit the application form online?

If you have already applied for our programmes via other channels, you may not be able to make another new application via the Admission Portal.

What should I do when I get an error message stating "Upload attachments error. Please remove attachments and submit. After submission, you can log in and then upload attachments" after submitting the application online?

Please retry on another browser (e.g. Chrome). If the error message remains on Chrome, please remove the attached files and submit the application form again.

If an error message popped out that stated "Unexpected error occurred", what should I do?

Please use another browser (e.g. Chrome) to retry. If the error still processes on Chrome, please use a desktop PC instead.

Online Payment

How do I know if I need to pay the application fee?

Applicants can log in to the Admission Portal to check the payment advice (if applicable).

Will the application fee be refunded?

The application fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

What can I do if the system doesn't respond after I input the credit card information?

Please check with your bank for the payment transaction status. If payment has been successfully made, please contact the University / College by email at feo@sfu.edu.hk.

What can I do if payment status does not update to "Settled" on Admission Portal after successful payment notification has been issued by the credit card company?

The update on payment status may varies, depending on the payment method and payment arrangement of each bank. Except the payment made via online payment platform, other methods usually take 2-4 working days to process.

Will the bill still be credited if the payment is not successful?

Please check with your bank for the payment transaction status.

Is there any surcharge for using credit cards?

Applicants do not need to pay any surcharge for credit card payment.

Will the University / School refund if I duplicated the payment by mistake?

Except in special circumstances, all fees paid will not be refunded. Please carefully check all relevant information before making the payment.

Will the University / College accept credit cards issued by UnionPay and/or American Express?

We only accept VISA or MASTER as credit card payment methods.

Will the University / College accept credit cards issued by foreign countries?

Applicants may choose to pay the relevant fees with VISA/MASTER credit cards, and there is no special restriction on the issuing region.

Will the University / College accept any other payment methods, other than credit cards and PPS?

Our online payment platform currently only accepts credit cards and PPS for payment. Other payment methods include payment through ATM, payment at branches of Chiyu Bank, and payment at the University / College's service counter, etc. For details, please refer to the payment instructions as shown in your payment advice.

How long will the University / College receive my payment if I settled by other means?

The system's update on payment status varies depending on the payment method. Except for the online payment platform of our University / College, other methods usually take 2-4 working days.

How do I know that I have already settled the payment?

Applicants can log in to the Admission Portal to check the payment status.

If I have settled the application fee / deposit, but there isn't update on payment status. What should I do?

If the payment status has not been updated after 4 working days upon payment, please contact the Finance and Estates Office by email at feo@sfu.edu.hk.

How to use ATMs to settle the payment?

Please refer to the payment instructions as stated in your payment advice.

If I missed the application fee payment deadline, will my application be affected?

Please settle the payment before the payment due date to avoid any delay in your application.

If I missed the enrolment fee / first instalment of tuition fee payment deadline, will my offer place be affected?

You are supposed to settle the enrolment deposit and/or first instalment of tuition fee by the stipulated deadline to reserve the offer. The offer may lapse if you cannot settle payment by the due date. Please immediately check the latest status of offer place with Registry by email at apply@sfu.edu.hk.

What can I do if I cannot download the payment advice?
