Admissions

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an admission interview. Please upload the following documents to the University Admission Portal after the application has been submitted online:

• Identification documents (e.g. Hong Kong Identity Card / Passport);

(if you are not holding a permanent HKID card, please also submit the relevant identity documents)

• Relevant academic credentials (Graduation Certificate and Transcripts);
• Public Examination Results (certificates and results of HKDSE/HKALE/HKCEE); and
• School reports for the last three years.

(Note: Failure to provide the required information may cause delay or render the University / College unable to further process the application.)

The Registry or Academic departments will notify shortlisted applicants of the details of interviews individually by email, SMS, phone (our phone number usually starts with 3702 or 3653) or other electronic means. Applicants are advised to attend the interviews as scheduled since re-arrangement may not be possible. If they fail to do so, their applications may not be further considered.

Interview Arrangement (after the announcement of the HKDSE results)

The Registry will notify shortlisted applicants of the details of JUPAS interviews individually by email and SMS after the announcement of the HKDSE results.

Clearing Round	25 August 2026 (9:00 am)	Applicants who paid the acceptance fee to JUPAS will receive the offer package via email after 5:00 PM, 26 August 2026*. The offer package will be uploaded to the Admission Portal. Applicants will also be notified via email and SMS.

*The date and time are subject to change without prior notice.

Remarks 

The following documents would be included in the offer package:

• Offer Letter;
• Acceptance of Offer; 
• Tuition Fee for the 2026-27 Academic Year;
• Explanatory Notes;
• SFU New Student Orientation Activities;
• The payment advice of the balance of the 1^st instalment of Tuition Fee.

Applicants who fail to pay the balance of the 1^st installment of tuition fee and upload the signed acceptance of offer to the Admission Portal by the deadline specified on the payment advice will be considered to have declined the offer, regardless of whether the enrolment deposit or other tuition fees have already been paid.

Adverse weather arrangement

In case of adverse weather, such as Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or / Black Rainstorm Warning Signal / "extreme conditions" announcement by the HKSAR Government is in force, the following measures will take effect:

1. The admission interview will be rescheduled. The University will notify concerned applicants of the rescheduled arrangements via email and SMS at a later stage.
2. The registration activities will be rescheduled. Under these circumstances, the rescheduling details will be announced through the University's website http://www.sfu.edu.hk.

• HK$300 for local applicants;

The application fee and tuition fee paid are neither refundable nor transferable.

Credit Accumulation and Transfer

It is important to note that the tuition fees (inclusive of enrolment deposit and/or the 1st instalment of tuition fee) paid are neither refundable nor transferrable unless you have later accepted an offer from JUPAS to study for:

1. a 2026/27 full-time UGC-funded Bachelor's degree programme (programmes offered by HKMU and HKAPA are NOT UGC-funded ), OR
2. a 2026/27 Bachelor's degree programme subsidised under SSSDP.

• Except withdrawal of programme, Any fees paid (e.g. application fees, tuition fees) are not refundable or transferable.
• All programmes have been validated by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), which the academic qualification and status are both recognized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government. 
• The University reserves the right to admit a student or not and to withdraw a programme if there were insufficient registration. In any cases, the University holds the final decision.

• Important dates for Non-Local Applicants

• Non-local applicants are advised to submit their applications for admission as early as possible before the semester begins. Immigration Department normally takes at least six to eight weeks to process visa/entry permit application for study upon receipt of all the required documents.  A longer processing time may be required during summer rush period between June and August.

Application for Student Visa

It is important to note that all fees paid are neither refundable nor transferrable.

• SFU is no longer accepting applications from Mainland applicants for admission to the Postgraduate and Undergraduate Programmes. Applicants are welcome to apply for the Sub-degree Programmes offered by SFU.
• SFU is no longer accepting applications from Macau and Taiwan applicants for admission to the Undergraduate Programmes. Applicants are welcome to apply for the Postgraduate and Sub-degree Programmes offered by SFU.
• SFU is no longer accepting accepting applications from non-local applicants for admission to the Diploma Programmes.
• All programmes have been validated by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), which the academic qualification and status are both recognized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government. 
• Graduates of the Higher Diploma and the Associate Degree programmes (except Mainland, Macau and Taiwan students) are able to articulate to the Bachelor's Degree Programmes offered by Saint Francis University (SFU) or local universities, or they may choose to continue their studies abroad by entering a top-up degree programme which could normally be completed in 1 to 2 years.
• Students with outstanding academic performance are eligible to apply for various scholarships granted by the HKSAR Government.
• Non-local students who have obtained a Bachelor's Degree qualification conferred by SFU are eligible to apply to stay/return and work in Hong Kong in accordance with the "Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG)".
• Except withdrawal of programme, any fees paid (e.g. application fees, tuition fees) are not refundable or transferable.
• The University reserves the right to admit a student or not and to withdraw a programme if there were insufficient registration. In any cases, the University holds the final decision.
