With the support of the RGC Institutional Development Scheme (IDS) Research Infrastructure Grant (UGC/IDS11/15), the Healthcare Research Centre (HRC) at the S.K. Yee School of Health Sciences, Saint Francis University was founded in January 2016. The HRC works closely to nurture and support academic staff of the School, who are at different career stages, through the ten research theme groups which composes of convenors and members. The HRC focuses on conducting applied research grounded in community and primary healthcare, gerontology, health and well-being, education, and translational research in pharmacology & pharmacy. Leveraging on the competency of scholars from nursing, pharmacy, and physiotherapy, it implements a community practice model: CommunityHealth@SFU and Caritas St. Francis Pharmacy through which the data of consenting clients who have received community healthcare services at SFU have been collected for analyses. The HRC also supports student research and research outputs. Our research projects also engage research partners from within our local and international collaborative links.
