背景简介
徐明心教授为香港圣方济各大学汤罗凤贤社会科学院前院长，国际社会工作学刊（International Social Work Journal）的联席总编辑，亦为前香港理工大学社会工作教授、社会工作博士课程主任和医疗及社会科学院副院长。徐教授投身社会工作的实务、研究及教学四十多年。早年曾任职香港基督教服务处，创立香港首间社区家庭服务中心，首间精神药物滥用者辅导中心，首个雇员辅助计划，同时担任香港眼库诊所主管及协调服务拓展、筹款、服务评估及员工培训。
徐教授于加拿大麦基尔大学取得社工硕士，并于多伦多大学取得三个奖学金，完成哲学博士。他是美国社会工作学院会士，美国社会工作行政人员协会首位国际会员，英国管理学会会员，香港人力资源学会院士及香港专业辅导学会院士。

研究
徐教授的研究领域包括社工督导、社会服务行政、社会工作教育及社会工作理论与实务。他发表了超过188项着作，包括专着12本 (e.g., Sage出版的【社会工作督导】一书)及学术期刊论文81篇。徐教授是全球最多产的社工督导学者。在社会工作及实务方面，其论文【从抗逆到抵抗：优势视角社会工作实务的重构】获国际社会工作期刊颁发法兰·端纳(Frank Turner) 2010年最佳论文奖，位列最多读者下载的社会工作文章首位，成为全球最多读者的社会工作文章。此外，徐教授在英国社会工作学刊的文章【社会工作关系界线再探】重构社工与服务对象的关系，将医疗模式重构成更包容、更多元的关系模式。徐教授最近的研究集中在为服务对象及照顾者重燃希望，重塑社会工作的本质和内容。此外，徐教授还担任世界各地7间大学的客席教授，国际社会工作期刊(International Social Work Journal) 及 9本学术期刊的编委。
